Day-2 will be the about the programs that can help you build a solid academic portfolio while you apply at college. You’ll collaborate with instructors from MIT, UC, Mission College, Startup Founder and Growth Hackers and learn about academic concepts by applying them on real world projects.

You’ll even create your own app like AirBnB, Instagram or anything you wish by the learning from these sessions. At the end you’ll take part in a 48-hr hackathon where you have to make your own apps in teams and win prizes like a $500 coupon, Airpods, Scholarships and more.

Session 1 - Day Orientationy

Time - 15 Mins

This is a very relaxed session that gets you acquainted with everything that happens throughout the day. You’ll get introduced to the instructors and will even get a sweet gift from us. Stay tuned.

Session 2 - Startups

Instructor - Aakash Dave

Time - 60 Mins | Interactive Session

Aakash is the Creator and Chief of Colab and Spotmi, A Collaborative Social Platform with over 10,000 members creating awesome content. He raised funding for the company as well as scale the product without the need of marketing. Recently, UCSC featured Aakash as their top story.

Session Info:

Aakash takes you through the journey of building a company from scratch, finding the necessary tools, getting the right direction, finding the right people to work and go above and beyond to grow your company. By the end of the session, you’ll be able to have a strong roadmap of creating a business of your own and can start working on it confidently.

Session 3 - Computer Science

Speaker - Min WU

Time - 60 Mins | Interactive Session

Min is a front-end developer and designer, currently working as a senior staff software engineer at ServiceNow. He is an MIT grad/PhD and also serves as the Program Chair of User Experience and Web Design at UCSC Extension and the Founder of Skill Trellis, teaching high school students how to excel in the AP Computer Science A exam and the USACO contests.

Session Info:

Min covers CS concepts that are applied in everyday technological life. You’ll learn to use the right mindset to solve complex coding problems and efficiently create a beautiful framework for the final product. You also see how basic APCS concepts can have such greater impact on the design of the program at large. This session is not about just scoring a 5 on AP, but gives you a deep insight to the aspiring software engineers on how CS taught in the school closely relates to the real world.

Session 4 - Economics

Instructor - Malkiat Sandhu

Time - 60 Mins | Interactive Session

Malkiat bring on a solid experience of teaching Economics, Finance, International Business/CIS at several different places like San Jose City College, Mission College, Foothill College, Berkeley City College, University of California Extension in Silicon Valley and several others. He has an amazing skillset when it comes to understanding global economy, tax systems and overall financial system of the world.

Session Info:

This session is all about using the economic data like demand and the supply, the changing forces of the markets, competition, monopoly, government policies that effect people like you and others. By the end, you’ll not only be able to understand the economic concepts but even be able to understand how things like stocks, economic policies or taxes work. This is a win!

Session 5 - Product Marketing

Session Info:

You heard from Aakash from the previous sessions, He’ll now collaborate with you to create a solid framework to help you spread the word for the product you have in mind.

By the end of this session, you’ll have immense knowledge about the different tools and tricks to help your business or ideas grow faster smartly. It could be anything, a blog, an app or a lemonade stand.

Session 6 - Let’s Build Your Dream App by Adalo

Instructor - Barrett Nash

Time - 60 Min | Interactive Session

Barrett Nash has cofounded venture backed startups in Canada, Kenya, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Having embraced no-code and Adalo in 2020, Barrett now manages Adalo's partnerships. He is an evangelist for spreading no-code and Adalo around the world, believing passionately in transforming users into creators of technology rather than just consumers of technology.

Session Info:

Over an hour of the course participants will be introduced to the no-code revolution, will discuss best practices of product design and then collaboratively build a simple application together on the Adalo platform. Participants will leave this talk ready to and empowered to build an app for themselves.
